Alright! Since this is my first article/blog on this website, I thought it would be a good idea to give some motivation, inspiration and knowledge about why Bodyweight training is so damn cool! Because let's face it; IT IS COOL ;) There's no discussion needed!

I have listed my TOP 8 reasons to why Bodyweight training is the best way of doing strength training in my opinion!

#1 It costs NOTHING!

When talking about all the different benefits of Bodyweight training one solid argument will and has always been the fact that it costs absolutely nothing to practice Bodyweight training! How cool is that?! You can train your entire body, right from your arms, chest, back, core, shoulders, legs and so forth, without having to pay a single coin for miscellaneous gym memberships, gym equipment, etc. If you don't see that as a positive benefit of Bodyweight training, there is something wrong with you!

And should you be doubting what I say, I highly suggest that you go and google names such as 'Lazar Novovic', 'Chris Barviking' and 'Hannibal For King'. Then you will see living proofs that a shredded, strong and musculare body really can be achieved using nothing but your own body weight!

#2 Bodyweight training equals Freedom!

Number 2 on the list is the fact that Bodyweight training is another word for FREEDOM.

I have benefited from this fact for as long as I have trained using only my own body weight. Why? Because no matter where, no matter when and almost no matter how you feel, you can ALWAYS do some type of Bodyweight exercises! Let's say you're visiting your far away family and you have to train. Well no excuses here, just drop down on the floor right away and start doing push ups! Or do Squats! Are the Squats too easy for you? No problem! Do One Legged Squats or Jump Squats instead! the opportunities are eternal! If you combine a creative mind with Bodyweight training, I tell you, (both from what I have witnessed but also from what I have personally experienced) the opportunities you have are countless! I see so much creativity in the form of Bodyweight training almost every single day on social media and it is all together a result of FREEDOM! The freedom to train wherever and whenever you want! You can become the BEST VERSION of yourself and you can achieve control over your own body, by doing Bodyweight training! I know this! I live to tell this to the world!

#3 Look cool, be cool, TRAIN COOL!

One thing I have found out throughout the time I have been doing Bodyweight training, is that people really think that Bodyweight training looks incredibly cool! I can't remember to have trained with anyone in the last 2 years that hasn't complimented my training style. "Wow, that's cool!", "How the hell do you do that?!", "That's a cool training style!", "The way you train is much cooler than training in a gym" or "Wow, can you show me that one more time?". These compliments all have one thing in common: they are all an expression of respect and fascination of certain Bodyweight exercises. That's cool and it tells me one thing: that people most likely think that Bodyweight training looks a lot cooler than weight training and be honest here guys! Bodyweight training seriously does look F#!?%!! COOL! So that's another great reason to do Bodyweight training! IT LOOKS COOL!

#4 Become more capable through Bodyweight training

I have tried both Weight training and Bodyweight training and my heart will always whisper to me: "Bodyweight training above Weight training". There is no doubt! I have tried to do workouts with weight and with my own body weight and yes, sure the weight training has got some sort of awesomeness over it, however, it just never happened to be something I enjoyed doing nearly as much as Bodyweight training. And why is that then? Because of capability! Because by doing Bodyweight training every single workout you do, every single set and every single rep contribute to your overall control of your own body. think about a monkey, swinging from tree to tree. Look how easy it looks, look how smoothly it is and look how FUN it looks! The monkey you imagine could be you. For real! There is a reason why my e-mail is gorilla.mick5@gmail.com. That's because of the fact that monkeys really do inspire me. They are masters at what I and many other people try to become good at; Bodyweight training! And that's why the fourth reason on this list is "Capability". Because Bodyweight training contributes to that way more than any weights in any gym does. "When you train, go be like a gorilla!".

#5 Less chance of getting injured

Even though you can injure yourself when doing Bodyweight training, the risks of it compared to if you did Weight training are much more rare. And that's another great reason to do Bodyweight training. Because this means that for example obese people, untrained people, elderly people, beginners and everyone else can train with their own body weight with a much lesser chance of injuring themselves. That's a huge benefit from doing Bodyweight Training. In a gym there is the chance of dropping a weight on yourself because it's too heavy for you, which can result in an injury.

With Bodyweight training there nothing like that! So go and warm up properly, stretch out and do your workout!

#6 When the sun is shining, Bodyweight athletes are smiling!

For anyone who has been doing Bodyweight training just a couple of times in their lifes, every single one will say that summertime is Bodyweight time! There is nothing better than being outside, 25 degrees, sunshine, doing Bodyweight training! I can personally say that the feeling of an outside and shirtless summer workout is one of the best feelings in the world for me! Getting tanned while you do push ups, pull ups, squats, crunches etc. is the best feeling in the world! When the sun is shining and it's warm outside, it really feels like you get extra energy for your workout! Try it out! I promise you: you won't regret it!

#7 Bodyweight training is for ALL PEOPLE!

One thing I really like about Bodyweight training is the fact that EVERYONE can do it! That's another beauty of it! You can be 70 years old and still do push ups, but if that's not possible then you can do elevated push ups to make it easier! That's the beauty of it! You can make almost any bodyweight exercise easier by decreasing leverage. So don't come and say that you can't do Bodyweight training unless you have a solid reason, like an injury! ;)

#8 Balance!

While many people at the gym will be using the Leg Press Machine, Shoulder Press Machine, Chest Press Machine and other machines where you sit down while doing the exercise which totally removes any need of balance from the practitioner, we as Bodyweight practitioners always use balance when we perform an exercise! And why is that a benefit? Because having good balance is another way of having control over your own body. If you walk and you fall because you have poor balance, well, how much fun is it then to be able to bench press 400lbs? Not much fun, right? All of the stationary machines you see at the gym all have one thing in common: they do not require any balance at all to be used. But by doing Bodyweight Squats, Pull Ups, Push Ups, Dips, Crunches, Leg Raises and so forth you have to have a lot of balance! The good thing about that is that by training both your musculare strength and your balance at the same time, you become a better athlete. Trust me! Without balance I wouldn't be able to do Handstand Push Ups, Human Flag, Tiger Bend Push Ups, One Legged Squats and so forth. You need balance in order to be able to master your own body and Bodyweight training will give you that naturally through all the different exercises there are!

I hope you liked these 8 reasons to why Bodyweight training is the best way of training! Let me know if you have other reasons you think I should have listed here as well!

Consider these 8 reasons and start doing Bodyweight training today!
